“By night, youโ€™re a thief, sneaking into dungeons to steal goods. By day, youโ€™re a merchant, haggling to sell your loot at high prices. Master stealth, steal the Demon Lordโ€™s hidden treasures, recruit employees, and expand your business. Rise from a penniless goblin to a black-market tycoon!” – Steam Description

In Goblin Vyke Thief Tycoon you play as Vyke the Goblin. After your fathers’ death you have been left the family store “Grabby’s”, but now you have to pay off his massive debts to the bank. To do so you turn a thieving. By Night you sneak into the dungeon to plunder treasures from its depths. The next day you sell all your ill gotten gains for massive profits. Show off your Collectibles.

  • Graphics– The art style is a gorgeous mix of pixel and soft cell shading for the portraits when you have characters talking to one another. The animations are smooth no matter what you are doing. The movement in this game feels so nice.
  • Gameplay– The dungeon exploring is a fun mix of stealth, puzzles, and killing enemies with traps. Some sections have a higher chance for certain loot so you can strategize to use the knowledge you’ve gotten from the news to your best advantage. I felt the News Articles were very repetitive, but I like that it was a way to take advantage of the market. It just needs a little more variety. The shop part of the game feels really quick compared to the dungeon delving. It just felt like the balance there is a little off.
  • Sound– The music is catchy and helps to draw you into the story.
  • Controls– The controls are easy to understand but it is a 2d platformer so there is some level of difficulty to the game.
  • Story– The story is an interesting one told in small pieces via NPCs that come into your shop. It has you looking forward to the next time you see certain NPCs

Final Thoughts

Pros:

  • Love the Music
  • The movement is a lot of fun
  • Beautiful art

Cons:

  • Shop section is very short
  • The News is very repetitive

This was a game I was highly anticipating after playing the demo during Steams Next Fest (February 2026) and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this when it released. If you like sneaking around in a 2d platformer with a side of shop simulation this game is going to be right up your alley.
