In Voyagers of Nera you play as an echo of the ancients. You gather resources, learn about your past, and take part in some water combat while traversing the ocean in this whimsical water adventure game. This game makes me think of a mix of Moana and Atlantis in a Valheim world. As you search the different biomes that encompass Nera watch the lore come to life around you. Build your boat and let adventure lead the way.

• Graphics– There is breathtaking scenery from the opening location to the final scene. I love the ethereal glow and particles given to the elemental creatures and spirits in the game. The graphics are clear and wonderfully made.
• Gameplay– The tutorials teach you how maneuver the game loop with easy. There is an open world with fairly linear progression. You can lose hours to that cozy “just one more thing” thought process. I absolutely love how the water combat feels. Its a huge highlight of the game for me.
• Sound– This game has the most calming music. It immerses you into the gameplay. The sound effects add great ambiance to an already wonderful soundtrack. I lose myself for hours in this music.
• Controls– The building mechanics for both the house and boats are very simple and fun. While maneuvering the boat and skimmer the controls are extremely sensitive. They take some getting used to, but don’t take away from the overall amazing journey this game takes you on.
• Story– There are markings and monuments that are scattered throughout the biomes that make up this world that expand on story elements. While this is an interesting way to tell the story it felt tedious and a little lackluster at times. I wish we had more lore to sink our teeth into in such a glorious game.
