“A 2โ4 player party brawler where classic party-game chaos meets fast, punchy combat. Score goals, steal stars, dodge hazards, and sabotage your friends in chaotic minigames!” – Steam Description

Dino Party is a 4 player party brawler where the rounds are fast paced and full of chaos. Customize your dino and butt stomp your way to victory in 15 different minigame types across 35 different maps.
Straight To The Moon
These sets of mini games are all about your timing with blocks and punches. Sending your friends flying off the map with a well timed punch is so satisfying. With straight forward controls everyone has a fair shot at stealing first place. The quick respawns get you back into the action with very little delay, and the fast rounds make it so even when you’re not doing so great it doesn’t feel so bad. Not great at Hot Potato? No Worries! Within a couple minutes you’ll be collecting stars or destroying robots. It’s easy to get pulled into a competitive mindset once you’re a couple rounds deep and you realize giving any ground could mean you lose that first place.

Here, There, And Everywhere
The maps are small but that just means it keeps you close to the action. You can’t really run from a fight and I think that’s successful for a party brawler. I do think that if they wanted to add more players to this game all they would have to do is scale the maps up a little and it would be able to host double easily. Each map is different and well made with its own little gimmick. From the frozen area to the one that looks like a bunch of kids toy blocks each has its own feel. There are also chances at environmental effects. There can be icy winds which can freeze you solid until you punch your way out that will have all of you frantically punching. On the next map meteors might be falling over the course of the mini game that can instantly knock you out. Both the wide variety of maps and the effects can lead to the small number of minigames feeling fresh a little longer before the repetition sinks in.

Time to Customize
There are tons of options to make your little dino look different than your friends. Making sure you look different helps you to keep track of your dinosaur in the chaos of the minigames. From body changes (skin, eyes, head shape, etc.) to accessories (hats, capes, glasses) there seems to be something for everyone even if you have to work your way to towards the cosmetics you like. You can unlock more by gaining levels which sends you a lootbox shaped like an egg, or buy spending the gold you get from just playing the game. Not only are there countless options but most things have a wide array of colors you can choose from.

- Graphics– The game hosts bright colors and fun customization for your dinos which I feel adds to the experience.
- Gameplay– It’s simple, to the point, and perfect for some quick fun. But because there are only so many different types of minigames, and some that are team only, it can become repetitive quickly.
- Sound– Sound effects themselves were decent. When you are punching your friends the sounds on contact are satisfying. So is the explosion when you force them off the levels. The music doesn’t standout at all but this also means it didn’t take away from the experience.
- Controls– They are responsive and easy to pick up. We are not trying to remake the wheel here but we didn’t need to.
- Story– There is none as its a party brawler.
Final Thoughts
Pros:
Cons:
- Repetitive Gameplay
- Small number of minigames
If you are looking for some quick fun that you won’t play all the time I recommend this game.
I can’t stress enough that the matches do become repetitive. This is not a game you’ll be able to play endlessly all the time with your friends. This might be a once in a while for something a little different game. It’s price at $12 isn’t terrible but I do wish it was about half of that. Try to pick it up on sale if you are interested. I enjoyed my time with this game and think it could have its place in a friend groups rotation.
