Summer Games Done Quick 2026

Summer Games Done Quick, or SGDQ going forward, is one of many speedrunning for charity marathons hosted by Games Done Quick. SGDQ is specifically the weeklong summer fundraising for Doctors Without Borders. These events feature top speedrunners for a wide variety of games showing of their skills in front of a live audience and streaming straight to our homes via Twitch and Youtube. SGDQ is currently the top fundraising event for Doctors Without Borders. Last year alone SGDQ raised $2,436,614 for the cause.

This year SGDQ is being held in Minneapolis, MN from July 5th – 12th. The in person event boasts a wide range of activities from boardgaming, arcading, tournaments, escape rooms, a vendor alley, and more! So, if you can make it to one of these events in person there is just so much to do!

The event kicks off 12:30pm EST on Sunday July 5th with their opening skit where they talk about the charity, the speedrunning highlights of the week overall, and the raffle prizes. Most of the staff behind GDQ has been around for years and they have always found fun and unique ways to share all of the information they have without it sounding like a huge info dump.

Other special time slots to note:

The Checkpoint – Daily segment to check in on the upcoming games, talk about raffles etc.
This is a skippable segment if we fall behind on time.
The Rundown – Daily snapshot of standout runs, showcases, and a look at what’s ahead on the schedule. Bonus Games – These games will only be played if the incentive is met. Meaning they are locked behind a donation goal.
Any of the Orange “GDQ” Time Slots – These are a mix of skits, talking to charity coordinators, talks with runners or game devs and more.
The Silly Block – On Thursday this large bright yellow block is filled with normally very quick, very silly games. Blink and you’ll miss them.
