“A rogue-lite slot machine nightmare. Gamble for your life in a never-ending debt simulator!”
– Stream Description
The Concept
CloverPit is a delightfully fun game that helps feed that secret gambling addiction you hide from everyone, including yourself (I see you). The lights, the sounds, the stench that is in the room, you know that room gives off all that built up atmosphere that is ripe for gambling. It gives you those tiny little serotonin bursts you always yearning for the gamble. This game will have you randomly saying throughout the day “Let’s Go Gambling!!!” Similar in style to Slots and Daggers and Balatro, CloverPit doesn’t feel unique in this idea of Rogue-Lite style gameplay. Make numbers bigger, Big flashing lights, Bright ambitions sounds…. You get the idea. But you still come back.. you still gamble.. you still pull that red lever hoping for just one more jackpot.

What Could Go Wrong?
In CloverPit you wake up in a 8bit room with a slot machine, a ATM, a red phone, dresser, a locked door and… a toilet? There is no music but the constant thumthumthum of a fan overhead. It’s eerie and a little maddening.
Suddenly a garbled voice on the megaphone speaks to you
“Pay your debt to earn your freedom.”
The concept is simple; pay the slot, play the slot, deposit what you earn into the ATM and make the debt amount up in your deadline which consists of 3 rounds (up to 7 spins per round). What could go wrong?
Quickly you realize that luck is not on your side, and you will need the charms displayed behind you to help you gain more money. You stack these charms to help build luck, multipliers and even a sense of determination to beat megaphone man and leave the room. The odds, however, constantly stack against you as deadlines go on. Death looms heavily over you as you learn what each charm does and how pairing these charms with other charms can quickly tilt the forever moving scale into your favor. RNG plays a heavy factor in the charms that you can purchase, and sometimes it can give you a “dead” end run right out of the gate. Should you not make the deadline you find yourself plummeting to your death. Nothing left but the sound of your legs breaking and asking if you want to go again.

YAY Progress!
At the end of every completed deadline, after basking in the glory of your luck and greatness, you hear the phone ring. When you answer you are met with a 8bit garble voice and they give you choices. More options to give you odds in your favor, to up your tickets which are used to purchase charms, or up your money. You weigh over your options and immediately wonder if your choice was the right one, because of course you only get one! Each new deadline the charms also reset and a new set of charms are displayed in front of you. As you play you unlock new charms and even Memory Cards that add a sense of flair to every new game you play making each time you play a very different experience. Eventually you even gain the chance to leave.
But, is it really worth it? You decide.

Welcome to HELL!
At the end of the 2nd deadline you gain the ability for 666 to appear into your slots. At a measly 1.5% per spin you find that the odds are still, in fact, in your favor. Well, you are wrong. Wrong. WRONG! This 1.5% can have you losing millions in one spin alone, which is also an achievement by the way, and dragging all the wind out of your sails that you had been gaining up to this point. As you progress in the game the 666’s get more intense and the increase of the money owed gets to the point even the devil himself would sweat. Certain items will add to the 666 percentage as well as add any buff applied to charms. There are items to help ease the sting of the dreaded 666, and even can reap the benefits of one popping up. I’ve heard of full 666 runs but have never experienced it myself. Maybe you’ll be able to find all the charms and you and the devil can flip off megaphone man together.

DLC Deliciousness
On April 09th 2026, the game came out with a DLC called the ‘Unholy Fusion DLC‘. In this DLC there is a ‘Surgery’ machine that is above your computer that almost looks like a medical ATM. When inspecting it you are met with a screen that tells you that you require certain charms at the same time, as well as a little bit of cash, to synergize and create a whole new game together. There is not too many synergies I know right now, but I expect as time goes on more and more will come into play. I find myself hard crunching to figure out what all these synergies are. They add a whole new layer to the charms that I was excited to find out existed when it came out. In this DLC you will gain:
- 30 Fusion charms to discover and with each Fusion the price goes up. From there you have to decide what’s more important; Your freedom OR the Jackpot.
- 11 new charms also have been added to help with new run styles and mix and match to build up the anticipation of being a quintillionaire and beyond.
- 4 new symbol modifiers to help your wealth skyrocket, Even Bezos would be jealous.
- 7 new memory cards to change the challenge of the game right off the rip in many different difficulty ratings
And finally:
A secret finale (I have yet to achieve this myself but I hope it does open up the story more.)

- Graphics– The graphics are in the form of 8 bit. While I don’t mind that style I struggle to see what certain things are at times and have to stare at them for a second to recognize what I am looking at. There is a bit of a horror element to it so that tends to add to the mysteriousness in it.
- Gameplay– I particularly LOVE the gameplay. While the concept stays the same, how you play and how you win change each time if you have curiosity to branch out and try things
- Sound– The sound can become a bit much because there is no music. The consistent heartbeat noises in the background or ticking of the phone can quickly become redundant. Making me want to drowned the sound out with something else.
- Controls– The controls are you very basic WASD controls. You are even able to play on controller as well as just with mouse alone just in case you be stuffing your face while gambling your funds away like I do.
- Story– The story is very minimal but there is a sense of mystery behind it. It has me wondering if there is more to it than I have fully discovered myself.
Final Thoughts
Pros:
Cons:
- The lack of music can drive you mad with the background noises consistently playing
- No real way to figure out the story other than to play it.
- Can feel a bit draining when you are not on a win streak
- Is not on Playstation or Switch
Overall, if you are into gambling games and looking to hit a jackpot today, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CloverPit. The only thing I would add is that have something mindlessly playing in the background while you play this game. The lack of sound is upsetting but the game itself and mystery makes up for it all. With over a million copies sold are you willing to gamble your life to win?

With that being said..
